Ivy Nevares
Born in Mexico, Ivy Nevares spent her high school years in the United States and South Korea before returning to Mexico to earn a BA in International Relations from the Technological Institute of Monterrey. Her desire to gain a deeper understanding of herself through the Humanities motivated her to excel at foreign languages, creative writing and literary analysis. After graduating in 2000, Ivy moved to New York City to work with the U.S. branch of International PEN-the world's oldest human rights and international literary organization. Nearly two years later, Ivy met educator, scientist and philosopher Keith Raniere and began training in his writing methodology. Over the past two and a half years, Ivy and Keith have co-authored and published numerous articles on science and philosophy in the Mexican scientific journal, Conocimiento. Their first book-a compilation of the first 25 articles-will be published this winter.

As a performer, Ivy began classical ballet training at the age of four with Bellas Artes ballerina Laura Urdapilleta, participating in regular performances shortly thereafter. In 1995 she began formal training in various other dance forms, including Flamenco, Argentinean Tango, Ori Tahiti (Tahitian), Hawaiian and Middle Eastern Belly Dance. She more recently has pursued newfound interests in musical theater and a cappella.

In 2004, Ivy became an instructor and choreographer of Flamenco, Belly Dance and Ori Tahiti in the New York capitol region. In April 2007, she founded the Nataraja Center for Movement Arts in Clifton Park, New York. In October this year, she and Keith Raniere launched Ultima™, a multidisciplinary program designed for the advancement of human expression.
