Dave Baumgartner, or “dB,” is a remarkably versatile vocal percussionist who drums with a talent beyond his years. Originally from Buffalo, New York, Dave is a self-taught percussionist who began learning his craft while still in high school, amazing and annoying his friends and family on a daily basis. Dave began to expand his skills while working with the CARA-nominated Vocal Tonic—a talented group of musicians based in Atlanta, Georgia—and continues to learn new tricks and styles every day. Dave tours and is sought-after globally as a vocal percussion instructor, workshop panelist and performer. Dave has also toured—and continues to play occasionally—with the Orlando-based group 4:2:Five. Together they won a CARA award.

Dave has performed over a thousand shows in just the past two years! He has played everything from cruise ships to Las Vegas, in doo-wop quartets and with the group Toxic Audio. He currently performs with and manages the group “Almost Recess.” Dave is excited to be involved with A Cappella Innovations!
